📜 Historical Context: The Chengdu J-20 “Mighty Dragon”
The Chengdu J-20, known to NATO as the “Fagin” and colloquially as the “Mighty Dragon,” is a fifth-generation, twin-engine, all-weather stealth fighter aircraft developed by China’s Chengdu Aerospace Corporation. Entering service in 2017, the J-20 stands as one of the world’s most advanced operational stealth fighters alongside the American F-22 and F-35. Engineered for high-altitude air superiority and precision strike missions, the J-20 utilizes a distinct canard-delta configuration to merge low-observable stealth geometry with incredible supersonic aerodynamic agility, securing its place in modern aviation history.
